List Rants

Hello Everyone,
Here is the space to post your "List Rants" ... work from the other night of what monologue was generated from reading all the lists in succession.

I don’t know what to do … I don’t know if I can do anything … I think anything I do gets swallowed up by this big black hole. Who are these people? Where does all the money go? Who’s renting the 3 million dollar co-ops in the building next to my 2000 a month studio that I can’t even pay? No matter what I’m spinning my wheels and getting no where, can barely keep my head above water. How do these people sleep at night, how do they keep their bonuses and not care about the people begging at their front door.

What happened? What happened to my beloved city? It's been wrecked. I blame Zeus and Hera and Athena and Apollo and Aphrodite and frigging Hermes that little fleet-of-foot bastard always goin' here and there', expecting a little cake a little wine to keep his mouth shut. That little shit - Ooh I bet he has the best sandals...I sure could use a new pair. I've had these for an age and a half, making offerings every week for 2 decades, just to have enough for a new pair of double gel supple soft leather sandals with extra ankle support. But no - it ain't enough...it's neever enough. Zeus wants this. And Athena wants this. And don't get me started on Plutus. Gave up on himm years ago. Blind as a bat he is. Never tosses a coin to the hard-workin' lot of us who make the world work. I think if we all just stopped workin...

I've got a headache....need a Tylenol I can't afford to buy....my head is full of criticisms, anger....so stressed out and exhausted....so many problems and concerns. Who is right....who is wrong? Everybody's right and wrong. How do we make wrong right without making right wrong? Who cares for the poor, the rich, the in-betweens, if there are anymore middle class left to care for? Who cares? I care, but what can I do? What can we do? It's all a blur...can't solve the world's economic problems, the nation's problems, my city's problems, my own personal economic problems...But there must be something we can do...I know there's something, even one thing, small or big that I can do....we can do....Can we? Can I? Can you?

Well I'm here because there is no where else to go, now one wants to listen to me. I am out here having my say. I got no job, no prospects of getting anyl Nobody cares...Yeah I drink beer. I like it! What's the crime? I'm an American. I love this country. I was brought up to believe this was a great country, a good place to raise a family and here I am. I can't even afford for my child to go to school. This city is the worst.
All these people around me flashing their VIP cards to this and that club, their smart phones, their royal pain in the ass shrinks they they "have" to go to because of their neurosees about their all important "Lives" and "Jobs" and nobody sees me here at all. I might as well be Mr. Shit Under a Blanket! But I have a Life. Man. Don't tell me I don't, that I am "living off the system." I tried living in the system, and it won't have me."

Everything on earth is out to get me.I can't afford to buy a house, but god knows my rent is damn high too. I have shitty credit and even if I didn't, I know that I'd be screwed by the banks anyway. Interest. In whose interest is that?!

Goddamn suits, goddamn penguins, strutting down the streets with their alligator wallets and alligator shoes and smug grins, with their 401Ks and their pretty family with their young wives and clean-haired children.

I fought for this country. I still do. And then they decide that this fresh-faced wall street schmuck with his clean fingernails and clippy-cloppy walk, is more important than me. His job is worth saving-- no, not saving, HELPING, throwing gold coins at his sweet baby face-- but MY job, the job of keeping this nation safe and armed and protected, is cut.

I'd like to see those boys take a ride around Iraq. Show you what a real man is.

The problem is, everyone feels the need to get ahead in this life....and to do so they need to cut corners. The rich get richer-- and often they do it by screwing the poor. Even the guy that pays me to babysit his kid-- he's trying to get away with paying me as little as possible-- trying to "scrimp" on child care-- meanwhile he's living in a huge loft in Tribeca. Corporations are the same-- they'll get away with whatever they can. Truthfully-- the 99% will too-- am I claiming unemployment even though I'm "working" a few hours a week babysitting? You bet I am.
